Tibor Csikós
Artist, art-teacher
Processes "The wholeness of the universe and the infinite richness of inner spiritual vibrations are simultaneously hidden in the brownish-green tones, in the forms made up of patches of thickening and rarefied elements, in the layers of different quality with a plastic effect. The gold that shines out of the individual elements and then is covered again does not simply provide a frame for the to the meeting and interaction of certain elements that initiate complex, far-reaching processes, but rather elevate what is happening, the values of matter become the eternal values of the spirit, the soul." (Art 9 Gallery, 2004.VII-VIII.) Art historian ERNő P. SZABÓ
CV
Tibor Csikós was born in 1957 in Martonos (Yugoslavia). After his studies in Novi Sad (Újvidék), he moved to Pál Gerzson at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest. He deepened his profession with French masters.
In his first figurative period, clowns and then bikers appear in his ink drawings. He also paints watercolors, his works are characterized by folk motifs, head variations, and nudes. Later, his pictures are built up from geometric figures, circles, sets, and lines in a logical system. He is a teacher (painting) at the István Szőnyi Free School of Fine Arts in Zebegény. In 2002, he moved to Gothenburg (Sweden) and started a family. He is an active member of the circle of Hungarian artists in Gothenburg.
